Early History
Eagle Software was established in 1981 on the campus of Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, KS. A group of Computer science majors and their visionary professor saw a need, and began developing performance enhancement tools for the MV series of mainframe computers by Data General.

Product Success
After developing several successful products, the team quickly gained recognition from Data General, and began writing programs to optimize performance on the Data General mainframe families.

Early Pioneers
Eagle was one of the first to own the Data General Eclipse MV/8000, the first in the family of 32-bit minicomputers. It’s revolutionary processor was code-named “Eagle,” and that is how “Eagle Software” was named.

Solutions Needed
With the technology shift to “open systems” in the 1990’s Eagle discovered an industry need for data protection and storage strategies. We leveraged our programming expertise, and partnered with leading vendors to provide storage and backup solutions.
Eagle Now
Eagle’s original “student founders” are still leading the company today, with the goal of providing the best technologies and services to meet the business needs of our customers. Our business spans four decades, with thousands of customers and we’re excited to introduce a new era of “makings technology easy”.
