1981

Eagle Software was established in 1981 on the campus of Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, KS. A group of five computer science students and their professor saw a need for performance enhancement tools for mainframe computers developed by Data General. They began designing programs to address these issues.

1985

Eagle quickly became one of the leaders in developing tools for Data General and DEC systems. In addition to performance optimization, Eagle also wrote programs to simplify business processes. Customers around the world began looking to Eagle as the expert in this market.

1990

In the 90’s the IT world evolved to “open systems” computing. Eagle identified the need for data protection and effective storage strategies for companies adopting these new technologies. The concept of backup and recovery was new. But by leveraging the programming expertise of our development team, and partnering with leading vendors, Eagle began providing data protection and storage solutions and services.

2000

After the industry survived the “Y2K” scare, companies were quickly adopting methods to leverage the world wide web and Storage Area Networks to increase performance and efficiency. Datacenters were becoming complex, and Eagle was finding new ways to help customers simplify their data protection and storage. Eagle was quickly becoming one of the leading VAR’s (Value Added Resellers) in the Midwest, enhancing our product offerings with services including: design, assessment, implementation, and support.

2010

Cloud computing changed the industry in the 2010’s as businesses saw the benefit of adopting a cloud strategy. Eagle assisted customers in leveraging cloud strategies, providing managed services and data protection solutions for data, no matter where it lives. Customers benefitted from Eagle’s expert analysis of their business needs. Eagle added services to enhance their solution set, with 24×7 support with EagleWatch.

Data protection has always been at the heart of Eagle’s offerings. With the rise of cybersecurity threats, Eagle leveraged that data protection expertise to develop tools and services to improve customer’s security posture and mitigate cyber risk.

Those five students who formed Eagle back in 1981 are still leading the company today. Who We Work With

Before we propose a technology, our engineers have done extensive due diligence to make sure a technology is fit for our line card. This means we’ve identified, evaluated, trained, and are certified on the solution, and run it in our own lab before it ends up in a customer’s datacenter.
